Julia Hammans (centre), married accountant Nicholas Hammans (right) in 1983 and, when she became pregnant in 1989, 'agreed' to give up her job as a company financial director, to care for the family. The couple enjoyed a high standard of living on the husband's 'very big earnings' until they split in 2004.
