KILLER virgin Elliot Rodger may have planned to inspire a “death cult” that would stage massacres around the world, police fear.
Officers are investigating whether the British-born student aimed to trigger copycat versions of his knife-and-gun rampage.
US police and officers from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives raided the homes of Rodger’s divorced parents in a bid to pin down if he already had a “network”.
The twisted 22-year-old Asperger’s sufferer emailed a 140-page murder manifesto to two dozen people – including his parents. He then launched his merciless attacks that left six dead and 13 injured.
Authorities were yesterday seeking to discover if the move was designed to spark follow-up slayings and spoke of a “potential cult”.
Officers seized computer equipment, notes, files and disks from the homes of his film director dad Peter and Malaysian mum Lichin, 53, who both live in West Hills, California.
Family friend Simon Astaire said Lichin desperately tried to reach her son hours after receiving his mani-festo and a chilling video.
Called “Retribution”, it described his plan of “slaughtering” women at a hall of residence at the University of California in Santa Barbara.
She alerted Peter and, after he watched the video, called 911.
They in turn tipped off police but officers who turned up at his house failed to search it.
That meant his stockpile of weapons with enough ammuniton to kill 400 people was not discovered and they ruled he did not pose a threat.
Police fear he may have tortured his first three victims before stabbing them to death after describing in his manifesto My Twisted World how he would inflict “pain and suffering”.
George Chen, 19, and Weihan Wang and Chen Yuang Hong, both 20, all died from multiple stab wounds in his flat.
Wang and Hong, who were his room-mates, had planned to move out, telling pals Rodger was “too weird”. The student had vowed in his manifesto: “The first people I would have to kill are my two housemates to secure the entire apartment for myself as my personal torture and killing chamber.
“I will torture some of the good-looking people before I kill them, assuming that the good-looking ones had the best sex lives.
“All of that pleasure they had in life I will punish by bringing them pain and suffering.’’
The second phase of his plan was to launch a “war on women” who had rejected him and left him a frustrated third-year college virgin. He climbed into his BMW and drove to a sorority house where he shot dead Katherine Cooper, 22, and Veronika Weiss, 19.
Then he got back in his car and drove to a nearby deli where he shot dead bystander Chris Michael-Martinez, 20, in an attack captured on CCTV.
After mowing down two cyclists Rodger shot himself dead as armed police closed in on his crashed car.
In his manifesto he blamed his hatred of women on a blonde model he used to go to school with who he said had “teased and ridiculed” him.
“I hated her so much and I will never forget her,” he wrote. “I started to hate all girls because of this. I saw them as mean, cruel, and heartless creatures that took pleasure from my suffering.
“The way I was treated by girls at this time, especially by that evil bitch, sparked an intense fear of girls.
“The funny part of this is that I had a secret crush on her. She was the first girl I ever had a crush on and I never admitted it to anyone.
“To be teased and ridiculed by the girl I had a crush on wounded me deeply. The world that I grew up thinking was bright and blissful was all over.
“I was living in a depraved world, and I didn’t want to accept it.” The pair met when the girl was 13 and are understood not to have been in contact for years.
The girl, who the Daily Star is not naming, has been a model while her brother is an actor who had a role in The Hunger Games – a movie of which Rodger’s dad was assistant director.
Rodger also named another stunning female classmate he fell for and believed he was meant to be going out with throughout college.
When he found her like an “obsessed stalker” on Facebook he said his heart was torn to pieces because she had a boyfriend who was a “tall, muscular surfer-jock with a buzz cut”.
He said: “As I looked at all the pictures of the two of them together, I shivered with pure hatred. I wanted to kill both of them, and I was capable of doing it.”
