Donald Sterling, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, was banned for life from the league and handed a £1.5million fine on Tuesday after the tape emerged earlier this week.
Now NBA commissioner Adam Silver has called for other team owners to force the 'racist' owner out of the game by making him sell his team.
"We stand together in condemning Mr. Sterling's views. They simply have no place in the NBA," Silver said at a news conference.
If three quarters of the remaining 29 owners agree to force Sterling out, the 80-year-old, who has owned the club since 1981, will leave the NBA forever.
In the audio footage, Mr Sterling was reportedly arguing with his girlfriend V. Stiviano complaining about her posing in social media pics with black sports stars Magic Johnson and Los Angeles Dodgers baseball player Matt Kemp.

The publicity-shy dance graduate reportedly asked the 29-year-old Prince to give her “some space”.
One source said: “Harry and Cressie have split.
"She is still young and has huge reservations about marrying into the Royal Family.
“They had a chat over the weekend and decided it’s best they cool things off.
“Harry is hoping she’ll change her mind – but for now, the romance is very much off.”
It is a massive blow for the smitten Prince, who was tipped to propose to her this year.

"It all follows a chat she had with Kate which really opened her eyes as to what to expect inside the royal circle.

Chair of governors Martin Dowling said Mrs Maguire was currently working four-day weeks in preparation for her retirement in September.
Flowers and messages have been left at the school's gates while former pupils attended a special church service for the "inspirational" teacher.
Earlier it was confirmed a post-mortem examination had shown the 61-year-old died of multiple stab wounds and that the 15-year-old suspect remains in custody.
Mr Dowling added: "Ann was a wonderful, dedicated teacher and will be remembered fondly by all of us.

Showdown! Ed Miliband wants to go head-to-head with David Cameron in live telly debate

ED Miliband has challenged David Cameron to a live TV election debate.
COME ON THEN: Ed Miliband (left) has accused David Cameron of dragging his feet in going head-to-head on a live debate show [PA]
The Labour leader is desperate to go head-to-head with the Prime Minister in front of the cameras.
And he has accused Mr Cameron of “stalling” in signing up for the showdown in the run-up to next year’s General Election.
Mr Miliband said he saw the debates as a “crucial part” of the campaign and accused his rival of being the “single biggest obstacle” for them going ahead. He wrote in Radio Times: “It is a pity the Conservatives will not even sit down to begin negotiations until later this year and have stalled at every opportunity.
“With the election just a year away, it is time Mr Cameron stopped dragging his feet and showed he is willing to debate the future of our country by allowing the negotiations to begin”
Ed Miliband
“I can only assume Mr Cameron wants his party’s deep pockets to be used for maximum advantage. No-one should want the outcome of the next election distorted by the number of direct mailshots and billboard posters a party can buy.”
Britain’s first ever live TV debates between party leaders took place ahead of the last election in 2010 when Mr Cameron took on then Labour leader Gordon Brown and LibDem chief Nick Clegg.
But the PM has since complained that they “took all the life out” of the campaign.
Mr Miliband added: “With the election just a year away, it is time Mr Cameron stopped dragging his feet and showed he is willing to debate the future of our country by allowing the negotiations to begin.”

Strange object in sky over North London - 28/04/2014 @ 1:30 pm
I captured this object a couple of streets away from where I live. The object appeared black in colour and was rotating as it moved along. I captured nearly 5 minutes of video before I lost sight of it floating in the direction of Highbury & Islington. I'm not sure what this object is. I thought it was a balloon, but there appears to be a light on it. I put together this collage of stills grabbed from the video. I guesstimate the object to be 1/2 a mile away and possibly 500-1000 foot high. I'll upload the video to YT as soon as I finish processing it. I would like some feedback on this. Thanks.

Stations were packed and congested and some faced more than half an hour wait to enter Underground tubes this morning.
The Central Line is running between White City and Ealing Broadway, between West Ruislip and North Acton, between Epping and Leytonstone and between Hainault and Liverpool Street only.
The Circle and Waterloo & City Lines have no service. All other lines have some form of service but lots of stations are closed.
The walkout is due to plans to close all ticket offices at a cost of 960 jobs.
Transport for London has said it hopes to run between 40 and 50 per cent of services.
But plucky Londoners took to social networks to voice their frustration and here are some of the best pictures….

Former Malaysian PM says Boeing know the truth as search for MH370 enters 'new phase'

A FORMER Malaysian Prime Minister says the government are not to blame for the disappearance of flight MH370 and that it is on plane maker, Boeing, to tell the world how and why the plane vanished into thin air.
blame, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Boeing, responsibility, blameBLAME: Dr Mahathir Mohamad says Boeing need to take responsibility [BARCROFT]
Dr Mahathir Mohamad says Boeing need to explain how the aircraft lost communication and the company "must accept responsibility" for the missing flight.
Writing in an opinion piece, the country's fourth PM said it is unlikely the plane just floated to a safe landing in the middle of the ocean and must of left some piece of wreckage.
He wrote: "I am very upset over MAS employees being held hostage in Beijing by the relatives of the passengers of MH 370.
"I am upset because they are blaming the wrong people. The loss of the plane is due to the makers Boeing.
"Some equipment on the aircraft must have been disabled. Even the backup must have been disabled.
"Boeing built this aircraft. Boeing must explain how all these means of tracking the plane can be disabled, can fail."
He said that to disable the plane's communication must have fairly easy for no one on board or in the control centre to notice.
He continued: "How can Boeing produce a plane that is so easily disabled? Surely the co-pilot would want to inform ground stations that the plane was not flying according to the scheduled route.
"The passengers may not notice but the co-pilot would. So would the cabin crew. They are all trained to deal with emergencies if not immediately, at least later.
"The co-pilot would notice and for his own life he would have tried to do something. Was he disabled? Were all the crew members and the passengers disabled?"
search, Australia, EPATRACKING: The search continues [EPA]
“Boeing built this aircraft. Boeing must explain how all these means of tracking the plane can be disabled, can fail.”
Mahathir Mohamad, former PM
Dr Mahathir said he does not know where the Boeing 777, that was carrying 239 passengers when is disappeared on March 8, could be.
He added: "The flight of all passenger planes can be tracked even on a personal mobile phone. I can do it on my phone. If the plane landed I can watch it landing and taxiing.
"When a plane crashes on land or sea there would be debris or oil slick. None has been found so far.
"Can it be that the plane remained intact on crashing and sank with no trace and no one launching the lifeboat doors as we are told all these aircrafts are equipped with?
"Can one believe this plane quietly floated down into the raging sea and sank conveniently in the deepest part (7miles deep) of the Indian Ocean?
"Boeing must answer all these questions.
"Boeing must accept responsibility for building an aircraft that can disappear in mid-air so completely."

found, Tony Abbott, possible, NEW SEARCH: Aussie PM Tony Abbott said it is "possible" it may never be found [EPA]
The search for the plane remains ongoing after a US drone searched a large area of the Indian ocean bed last week. Nothing was found.
But now a new search, which could take months, will be launched to focus on the darker depths of the sea.
Yet Australian PM Tony Abbott said it is "possible" the plane may never be recovered.
He said: "By this stage, 52 days into the search, most material would have become waterlogged and sunk.
“It would be a terrible outcome. It would leave the families with a baffling uncertainty forever.
"A plane can’t just disappear. It must be somewhere."
The new search is expected to be completed in eight months and will try to cover more than 20,000 square miles.
In this huge mission, the search for the plane is set to cover four large areas where 'pings' were detected since its disappearance almost three months ago.
Mr Abbott said: “It may turn out to be a false lead but it is the best lead that we have and we are determined to pursue it... We will search it all."

Internet Explorer security flaw leaves millions at risk from cyber attack

US software firm discover major issue with its web browser and advise users to protect their computers to avoid cyber theft
Internet Explorer, Security flaw, Microsoft, Heartbleed bug, FLAWED: Using Internet Explorer could leave you vulnerable to cyber thieves [DAILY STAR ONLINE]
Millions of internet users across the UK could be at risk of cyber attack after a serious flaw has been found with Internet Explorer.
Microsoft announced the grim news via their Security TechCenter website and have admitted they currently have no fix for the issue.
The problem affects all versions of the browser from Internet Explorer 6 to 11 and Microsoft warned that “limited, targeted attacks” against people and networks have already occurred.
“An attacker could host a specially crafted website designed to exploit this vulnerability through Internet Explorer, then convince a user to view the website”
Microsoft
The company’s website says, “The vulnerability may corrupt memory in a way that could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user within Internet Explorer.
“An attacker could host a specially crafted website that is designed to exploit this vulnerability through Internet Explorer and then convince a user to view the website.”
The news comes just weeks after the discovery of the HeartBleed bug which left people open to cyber criminals.
HeartBleed allowed crooks to steal your most private information without leaving a trace.
It rendered the on-screen padlock icon – used by millions as a guarantee of internet security – utterly useless.
But what makes this latest scare so serious is that Internet Explorer is one of the most popular internet browsers in the world.
It's currently used by over 26 percent of the web-loving public.
Microsoft have said they are working hard to fix the flaw and are encouraging customers to enable a firewall, apply all software updates, and install antimalware software.
For now, the easiest way to avoid attack is to simply download another browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome.

Amazing new clue linked to Madeleine McCann: Cops set to arrest suspect thanks to t-shirt

POLICE were last night closing in on the prime suspect in Madeleine McCann’s disappearance – thanks to a “unique” T-shirt.

A detective has made a break-through just days before the seventh anniversary of the three-year-old going missing in Portugal.
Her parents Gerry and Kate were last night said to be “heartened” by the revelations.
New witnesses claim the No 1 suspect, a serial child sex attacker who operated for years in the Praia de Luz area where Madeleine vanished, was wearing a beer logo shirt.
Peter Bleksley, a founding member of the Metropolitan Police’s undercover unit, has discovered that the T-shirt bearing a “Super Man” logo from Portuguese drinks company Super Bock was a rare item not sold to the public.
It was in fact given away to a handful of loyal customers at just a couple of bars in the Algarve.
CLOSING IN: An arrest could be imminent [GETTY]
“Everyone is very confident the suspect will be found soon”
A source close to the investigation
The burgundy top, with a distinctive white circle on the back, was described by the families of two of his victims in Vale de Parra and Praia da Gale.
Thanks to this vital new evidence, the net is closing on the “pot-bellied” man police believe is responsible both for Madeleine’s disappearance and several other sex attacks.
A source close to the investigation said: “Fresh evidence which has come to light is helping detectives narrow down the lists of suspects considerably.
“There were once potentially hundreds of suspects but this has been reduced to just a handful – with one prime suspect.
“Everyone is very confident the suspect will be found soon.
“It goes without saying that any information about these unusual T-shirts – or anyone wearing them – could be vitally important to helping us finally solve this case.”
HOPE: This new clue could bring Kate and Gerry closer to discovering the truth [PA]
Friends of Kate and Gerry McCann, both 45, claimed last night the couple were upbeat that the news raised “fresh hopes” that Madeleine could be found.
Ex-Scotland Yard detective Mr Bleksley, who has spent much time investigating the case in Portugal, said: “We know that some victims said the man smelt of stale alcohol and tobacco and that he had a pot belly, so that would suggest he was a regular drinker or may have worked in a pub or restaurant.”
Next Saturday it will be exactly seven years since Madeleine went missing as her parents dined at a nearby tapas bar.
A new image, left, of what she may look like now has been released.
Kate will appear on ITV on Thursday when morning favourite Lorraine Kelly, 54, interviews her.

Five military personal feared dead after helicopter crash in Afghanistan

FIVE military personnel killed when the UK helicopter they were travelling in crashed in southern Afghanistan are feared to be British.

The Ministry of Defence said it was investigating the circumstances of the crash but could not confirm the nationality of the troops who were killed.
But sources said it is believed that they were British and the process of contacting next of kin is under way.
The crash, which makes this the bloodiest day for foreign troops in Afghanistan in 2014, is not thought to have involved any enemy action.
An MoD spokesman said: "We can confirm that a UK helicopter crashed in southern Afghanistan today.
"The incident is under investigation and it would be inappropriate to comment further until families have been notified."
Today's deaths bring the total number of international troops killed in Afghanistan this month to seven.
Nato forces are currently preparing to withdraw combat troops by the end of this year, with responsibility for fighting the Taliban insurgency handed over to the Afghan army and police.
“We can confirm that a UK helicopter crashed in southern Afghanistan today”
The MoD
If British casualties are confirmed, they would follow the previous deaths of 448 members of UK service personnel in Afghanistan.
It would be one of the worst air crashes involving British forces in the war torn country.
In September 2006 a Nimrod surveillance aircraft from RAF Kinloss in Scotland exploded mid-air while supporting Nato ground operations near Kandahar, killing all 14 servicemen on board.
The International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) coalition of international forces said earlier today in a statement: "Five International Security Assistance Force service members died as a result of a helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan today.
"Isaf is still in the process of reviewing the circumstances to determine more facts. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends affected by this tragic event."

Blood money: British jihadis squeeze UK families for cash

The extremists slam Muslims for not offering cash to help hundreds of Brit fighters.
Hooded figures with cockney accents also urge people to help the families of around 20 Brits killed in the conflict.
The fighters against President Bashar al-Assad criticise British Muslims who would rather splash out at restaurant chain Nando’s or on PlayStation consoles than on supporting them.
In a YouTube tirade, two fighters call on UK Muslims to offer financial help to the families of dead fighters such as Abdul Waheed Majeed, the father-of-three from Crawley, West Sussex, who became the first British suicide bomber in the war.
The footage, which appears to have been shot in Syria, shows two hooded figures, one holding a rifle.
One calls on Muslim “brothers” to “either equip a fighter or to look after the family of those brothers we have lost”.
He adds: “It is not much to go to the family of a martyr and drop ten or twenty pounds or thirty, forty or fifty pounds – especially if you know this woman.

I am addressing you brothers…you all know who you are …from the capital…up north, Midlands, wherever you may be, the sincere brothers.
“It is a disgrace. You know where these wives and families are.
“Yet you are buying your child or your nephew a PS4, taking them to Nando’s.”
A second London jihadi adds: “You have enough money to eat out, you have enough money to buy new clothes, you have enough money to buy new cars but you do not have the money to look after the wife of a martyr.
“You should be ashamed of yourselves. What are you doing for these women?”
The fighters are from the Rayat al-Tawheed group, a British jihadist faction in Syria.
Their video came as police appealed to Muslim women in Britain to persuade relatives not to join the jihad.
Security chiefs reckon hundreds of people have travelled from the UK to fight in Syria.
Police also confirmed that 40 people were arrested for alleged Syria-related offences during the first three months of 2014.

British and Australian navies carry out record-breaking heroin bust

The drugs were found on a sailboat around 30 miles off the coast of east Africa.
Commodore Jeremy Blunden, the British Royal Navy commander in charge of the operation, said the seizure was a "significant blow" to drug trafficking networks.
"This is the sixth seizure of heroin by the Combined Maritime Forces since January and is by far the largest ever made by the organisation," said Commodore Blunden.
"Pinpointing a dhow [sailboat] in 2.4m square miles of ocean is a real challenge."
After locating the ship with the use of high-tech surveillance equipment the crew of Australian warship HMAS Darwin boarded the vessel.
They uncovered hundreds of plastic bags full of heroin – all of which have now been destroyed.
HMAS Darwin's Commanding Officer, Commander Terry Morrison, said the bust puts a huge dent in terrorist funding networks.
"This is a major heroin seizure, which has removed a major source of funding from terrorist criminal networks. The search tested the steel of Darwin's boarding parties who were working in difficult conditions throughout the night," Commander Morrison said.

Today removal vans were spotted outside the £7million north London house which the couple used to know as their marital home.
It appears that the pair's belongings had been packed some time previously, as hired assistants simply removed several large suitcases and boxes.
After tying the knot back in December 2003, the Paltrow-Martins decided to set up nest in Britain.

Male passenger 'groped sleeping woman's breast for FIVE MINUTES' on British Airways flight from London to San Francisco

A male passenger was caught groping a woman's breast for five minutes while she slept on a recent British Airways flight from London to San Francisco, police said.
The woman, who hasn't been identified, was napping when Vinay Pochampally, reached over from behind, placed his hand down her shirt and made 'skin-to-skin contact' while other passengers watched, according to a U.S. District Court criminal complaint.
The incident occurred about two hours into BA Flight 285 on April 15 and Pochampally was allegedly intoxicated at the time.

The victim was sitting in row 37, which on a Boeing 747 has a 'bulkhead of the galley and restroom area' behind it.
Pochampally, who was assigned to seat 36G, positioned himself in the gap behind row 37 and in front of the bulkhead, FBI Agent Bianca Betz wrote in a sworn affidavit, obtained by The Smoking Gun.
'While in that gap, Pochampally inserted his hand, palm-side down, into the shirt of the sleeping female passenger,' Betz said.

The man's hand was 'underneath the passenger's shirt and undergarments for approximately four to five minutes, making skin-to-skin contact in the breast and upper chest area.'
When the victim woke up to find Pochampally fondling her, he quickly removed his hand and fled down the aisle of the aircraft.
According to the criminal complaint, 'multiple passengers witnessed the incident' and told attendants what had happened. It appears no one attempted to stop the alleged assault as it occurred, however.

British Airways staff confronted Pochampally upon learning of the molestation from passengers, police said.
They ordered him to move to a different seat for the remainder of the 10-hour trip and contacted law enforcement upon landing at San Francisco International airport.
Pochampally was charged with simple assault in a misdemeanor complaint filed Tuesday in San Francisco federal court. It's not clear if Pochampally is a U.S. citizen.
A spokeswoman for BA told MailOnline: 'Police officers were called to meet flight BA285 on its arrival in San Francisco after a report of an incident on board.
'Due to the Data Protection Act we do not comment on matters relating to individual customers.'
She added: 'The welfare and security of our customers is always of paramount importance.'

Giggs, in charge until the end of the season, has been taking advice from ex-special forces hero Floyd Woodrow MBE.
He has been urged to draw on his “life experiences” to boost mental strength among the players and turn the club around.
And his message to stars such as Wayne Rooney, 28, and Robin Van Persie, 30, is: “Do not settle for mediocrity, push the boundaries and achieve”.
Giggsy, 40, was introduced to Woodrow, one of the youngest ever SAS recruits and who now specialises in team building, while studying for his coaching badge at the FA’s St George’s Park headquarters.

Club sources say the Old Trafford legend was “deeply impressed” after hearing a motivational speech from 50-year-old Woodrow, now a leading sports psychologist.
United’s dismal performances this season led to David Moyes, 50, being axed as manager earlier this week amid claims he had “lost the dressing room” and was dubbed “F*** off Moyes” by players.
Last night Woodrow, who served in the Gulf War and Afghanistan, confirmed he had spoken to Giggs, who has played for United since he was 17, about team building and leadership but declined to comment further.
Meanwhile, the giant David Moyes “The Chosen One” banner was removed from Old Trafford’s Stretford End yesterday and replaced with one stating: “Giggs Tearing You Apart since 1991.”

BROADBAND CRISIS: Your home's internet could become USELESS by 2020

4K TV streaming, online games and connected homes means Britain is facing a broadband meltdown.
Broadband, Hyperoptic, Boris Ivanovic, Crisis, BT Broadband, Virgin Media, HS2 Rail linkDANGER: Many home internet connections won't cope in the future [GETTY]
With our lives bursting with smart devices, more data is flying into our homes than ever before.
And it’s possible the UK’s average 14 Mbps broadband speed simply won’t be able to cope with modern demands.
Online movie service Netflix has already begun streaming content in ultra high definition 4K and the BBC, along with other broadcasters, is likely to follow soon.
Incredibly, on demand TV now accounts for one fifth of British viewing figures.
As well as TV and music, online gaming is becoming more popular with both PlayStation and Xbox now allowing games to be downloaded.
But with many titles in excess of 50GB, these downloads can take a mind-numbing 8 hours with a standard 14Mbps connection, and files are set to get even bigger.
CONNECTED: Google's new Nest thermostat is just one modern device that needs an internet connection [GOOGLE]
Our homes are also using more internet connected gadgets, with companies such as Google and Samsung launching smart appliances.
Internet entrepreneur, Boris Ivanovic, believes that the UK needs to invest heavily in broadband to keep up with the increasing demands.
His company, Hyperoptic, is one of the only UK providers to offer 1Gb speeds to its customers, and feels other providers need to do the same.
Speaking to the Daily Star Online, Mr Ivanovic said: "Technology is evolving all the time and is driving our economy.
"When we launched in 2005 people questioned why you needed 24Mbps, now that speed is the norm.
"Giving people gigabit speeds via fibre-to-the-home future-proofs businesses and consumers for the new wave of products and services that will continue to transform our lives."
“Fibre broadband would have greater economic benefit than the HS2 rail link ”
Boris Ivanovic, Chairman of Hyperoptic
And Mr Ivanovic even believes the government should scrap the HS2 rail link and invest the money giving more homes super-fast internet.
He said: "I am often asked about whether Fibre broadband would have greater economic benefit than HS2.
"The fact is I am a broadband expert, so any answer will always have a level of bias.
"But long term I believe that Fibre broadband would have greater economic benefit – the UK is the most internet-based major economy of the G20, as such it’s likely more businesses will be built upon broadband than on a trainline.
"Furthermore, online communications is growing at a phenomenal rate so it makes economic sense to protect this, rather than invest in a trainline."
LIGHTENING BOLT: Virgin Media offer speeds of 152Mbps to some customers [VIRGIN MEDIA]
So what are the chances of our homes getting faster speeds?
BT are investing heavily in fibre optic and will be bringing it to more homes across the UK.
And they recently tested a 1.4 terabits per second speed, which can blast 44 HD movies at you in just one second.
Virgin Media already offer 152Mbps speeds to some customers, but believe things will get faster.
Joe Lathan, director of broadband at Virgin Media said: "We’ve already proven our network is capable of delivering speeds of up to 1.5Gb and as the pace of technological change increases, the power of Virgin Media’s network means our customers will be best placed to access more bandwidth hungry entertainment services such as 4K in the future as demand rises."
For now, many of us will continue to endure the dreaded buffering symbol on our devices.
And it's clear that Britain needs to up its game and bring the delights of 1GB broadband to more homes.
