Goldenballs has been planning to start up a new Major League Soccer (MLS) club in the US but has been been shot down at the first hurdle.
The stadium proposal was rejected by Miami businessman for being in an "inappropriate" area on the city waterfront.
It is believed the location was too close to NBA team Miami Heat's American Airlines Arena.
The city has also just began building a new stadium for baseball team Miami Marlins - with the city splashing $500million (£298million) on the new design.
Becks will now have to focus on finding a new location for his $250million (£150million) stadium, which is expected to seat 20,000 spectators.
His group Miami Beckham United agreed on the finances in recent months with partners British entrepreneur Simon Fuller and mobile phone services billionaire Marcelo Claure.

But until the stadium plans have been accepted by the city, the 39-year-old, who played for Los Angeles Galaxy, cannot start his club.
Speaking in February, Becks revealed how it has always been a dream of his to own a football club.
He said: "This is an exciting time for myself, my family, my friends and partners, and it is something we are really looking forward to bringing to Miami.
"I want to create a team that we can start from scratch and I am going to work hard for this city to make this team very successful.

The Champions League winner broke into the Manchester United squad as a teenager.
And the former England captain is keen to bring through home-grown youngsters in Miami.
He said: "The way the US team have improved has been incredible and the only way that will continue is to have good academies.
"We want local talent, not just great players from abroad."
If a suitable location is found for Beckham's stadium, his team could be up and running by 2017.
