'It’s not nice to see a grown man cry': Cheryl Cole admits Cowell BEGGED her to return to X Factor... as Simon admits he 'made a mistake' firing her

Cheryl Cole has revealed that Simon Cowell's constant begging convinced her to return to The X Factor.
In the pair's first joint television interview since Cheryl's comeback was revealed on Monday, the 30-year-old singer joked it was the music mogul's (crocodile) tears that finally caused her to give in to his pleas.
Speaking to Dan Wootton on Daybreak on Wednesday morning, Cheryl said: 'There's only so much begging one can take. It's not nice to see a grown man cry, so I finally succumbed.’
The singer also revealed how the pair got back in contact after the public fallout as she recalled the famous birthday prank she played on Simon as the moment when they reconnected.
She said: ‘I heard a rumour saying he didn't want anyone to know it was his birthday, which highly amused something inside of me.
‘So I found out from people where he was, how long he was going to be there, was he there on his birthday, and I sent a plane across with a banner.'
Cheryl explained the details of her playful present as she continued: ‘So I just let the whole place know it was his birthday, what age he was - and I made it fly around the same amount of time as the age he was.
‘I think his response was I. am. going. to. kill you.But I was highly amused for a long time.’

Simon seemed to take the playful message in his stride as he added: ‘You know what, I've been doing this for a long time. You have fallouts. I held my hands up and said I made a mistake and I was sorry, and I was sorry.
‘And then when I decided I wanted to come back, I also decided I had to have Cheryl back on the show with me.’
When asked if he was excited to bring back the spark the pair shared in the 2010 series of the show, Simon said: ‘When you mention 2010, I have great memories of that show.’

Back together: Simon admitted he is looking forward to having fun on the judging panel alongside Cheryl
