He snatched the top spot from England legend David Beckham, 38, who was named last year’s richest with £165m but is not eligible now because he has retired.
In second place is Lionel Messi, 26, who is worth £120.5m thanks to a string of endorsements.
The Barcelona forward rakes in £12m a year and boosts his wages with ad deals for Adidas and Turkish Airlines.
Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o, 32, came in third with a £70m fortune, thanks to the millions he earned at Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
