Rumours swirled that Solange was lashing out at her brother-in-law for wanting to party sans wife with Rihanna or for getting too close to Kim Kardashian's pal Rachel Roy, while a wedding tattoo on Beyoncé's ring finger looked conspicuously faded.
But it seems like worries about a split between pop's number one power couple were unfounded, as Queen Bey has spoken – and all is well in the family.
In a statement released to AP, the trio said: "As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it.
"Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologised to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."“At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different”Statement from the Carters and Solange Knowles
But if you think that we're ever going to find out what happened in that lift of doom from the inside sources, think again.
The statement revealed absolutely nothing about what sparked the shocking fight – but did clear up questions about Solange's sobriety on the night of the Met Gala.
They continued: "The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."
Solange also shared vintage family snaps yesterday, in her first social media move since the video was leaked to TMZ.
The employee who sold the security footage for an alleged $250,000 has been fired by the Standard Hotel.
Well, that's that then – until the audio emerges, that is.
